Bio

I’ve always dreamed of growing up and raising a family. While I still fight the inner urge to go and do and be and amass power, wealth, and success, I gratefully reign it in and exchange it for the daily blessings and fulfillment of helping to shape the little people I call my children. For several years I tried to figure out who I was going to be and what I was going to do, and how it was going to all fit in to the picture of staying home with my children. Now, several years into my position as Chief Operating Officer of the domestic engineering firm called My Family, I know I have found my calling.

A born-and-raised southern girl, I earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Information Administration from Louisiana Tech University. After three years of working in the medical records field, I knew I was destined for a different future. Having made the decision to stay home with my children, I needed a way to continue to challenge myself outside the realm of housekeeping and child-rearing duties. I taught myself to design and code websites and quickly found myself earning a small income during the wee hours of the morning.

In 2008, after several years of random freelance web design, I established The DigiFix Web Design Studio with the goal of providing beautiful, affordable websites to small businesses and individuals, served up with personal, small-town service. Although I do stay busy on my computer, I also find time to work in my other creative outlets of sewing, knitting, reading, and doing random projects with my children.

Aside from my Heavenly Father, my husband Bill is my greatest supporter in life and in all my endeavors. He brings common sense to the household and steps in to rescue me from most of my project mishaps. Bill is quite the project-man himself, and in his spare time he enjoys welding, building things (crazy things), hunting, fishing, golf, and photography. He’s one of the few people I know that does advanced trigonometry for fun. I usually have to dig through his beautifully-sketched project blueprints to find my chicken-scratch notes on the latest website I’m working on.

We have a fun family, and we are so very blessed. I hope you enjoy browsing this site and reading the stories that weave our lives together.
